Around The Clock Schedule

Below is a copy of the schedule for the around the clock baby shower I held for my friend Tanya. It also includes a list of games and how we handed out the 'baby bucks'.

The shower was scheduled from 2:00-4:00pm. With the large number of guests we did end up running late, but just took out the last game.

I like to schedule showers with game and activities throughout the afternoon. This allows the mother to be to have pee breaks and I find keeps guest more engaged. I also like to have food available throughout the shower and usually plan for a formal 'tea break' in the middle of the shower. This gives everyone a break to move around, and I find a lot of people don't find time to eat before they arrive so they appreciate being able to grab a snack earlier than latter.

Schedule Notes:

This shower had over 35 people attend (which is quite a large shower) and over 50 were on the mother-to-be's guest list. For a shower this large I would recommend 2.5-3hours, especially if you want a relaxed pace. I would allow 3-5 minutes for opening each present, 30-45 minutes for games, and 30-45 minutes for introductions, conversation, and eating. I would also normally schedule 15-30 minutes extra (buffer) time because things always run longer than expected, especially if you have a social group. In the schedule above I had games throughout the afternoon so by removing or shortening games I had the buffer time.
