Around the Clock Shower Invitation

Below is is the invitation for my friend's Around the Clock Shower I held in 2011. You will find many similar versions of the verse around the internet. This one I had modified to fit this event, which was also the traditional baby shower tea party.

Tanya MacLeod is expecting a new bundle of joy

A very special gift, be it a girl or a boy!"

We're having a party! And won't it be fun
Many cheers and best wishes before we are done.
With family and friends and a hot cup of tea,
All we need now is your company.

Dust off your brooch or a large flowery hat.
If you don’t have one, don't worry about that.
A shower for Tanya, our esteemed mom-to-be
A reason to celebrate with a modern tea party!

Let's shower her with gifts in an unusual way,
Something she can use for each hour in the day.
Breakfast at home, playtime in the park
Nap time and fun time from morning til dark

Filling each second, each minute, each hour
That is your challenge for this baby shower
Look at the clock to determine your time
Find a gift and write a rhyme

To create your own monogram with date check out the Wedding Chicks website which includes really great printables and DIY projects. I came across this site in 2010 when helping Tanya plan for her wedding (yes this was a wedding baby) and there are so many great ideas it is hard to pick which ones to use.

Around the Clock Baby Shower Invitation

I created a two part invitation. The top part in printed on velum  and consists of the first 2 paragraphs of the verse with the Monogram B and the date. The second part is printed on card stock and includes the second 2 paragraphs and the shower information. On this part behind the velum is a picture of a clock on which I drew clock-hands to represent each person's assigned time.
